Is it true that, “php contact us” forms, dont work with free hosting?

I have a php contact form, im hosted free, the email though configured dont reach me, am i right in saying its because im hosted free on byethost16?
Ive also seen that some hosters dont allow mp3 and files over 500kb, are there free hosters that do allow all of the above functions

Chosen Answer:

No it is false… kinda.

Byethost does not allow for the mail() function in php to work on their free hosting plans. Other sites do. http://www.zymic.com/free-web-hosting/ is a decent free host. As well as they do allow for MP3 and larger file uploads. Unfortunately you will probably run into the same mail() problem (I don’t know for sure). So look into SMTP mailers. phpMailer is a good and easy one to use. Most free sites allow, and prefer, you using SMTP mailers.

Probably not. You should check out Final Touch Hosting. Hosting starts at $4.95/month. You get a free domain with 6 month agreement.

I can’t imagine that they’d have any trouble with it, unless they believe such an animal is a gateway to spam.

Why don’t you contact the customer service department of your Web Service and ask them? They’ll have the definitive answer, at least for *their* service. If the answer is “no can do”, then you can shop around for a free web service that *does* allow this feature.
